The Course

The race runs through a closed course within Volunteer Park.

Rules

Race is held rain or shine.  No Refunds. Held under USA Cycling Permit # 2018-117.  2018 license required.  Annual license available for purchase at registration.  One-day license available for Cat 5 men and Cat 5 women.  Waivers must be signed at registration prior to each individual race except for pre-registration though USA Cycling.  Fields with less that 10 starters can be combined at race director’s discretion.  All prizes will be awarded at the podium ceremonies and winners must be present to receive their awards.

Increased Racing time

Working with the USA Cycling officials to limit the pulling of riders out of contention.  Last year at the Taco Time Volunteer Park Criterium only one rider was pulled near the end of their race.  We have increased the racing time in every category to give you the maximum time to race your bikes, and there are opportunities to race twice during the day.

Race course preparation

The race course will be swept twice before the race to eliminate the moss and any debris present.  Creating the safest course is our priority.  The Bollard plates will be securely covered with duct tape and a nonslip surface.  Crossing guards and corner marshals are present to ensure the safety of the race course.

Cascade Criterium Series Points Competition presented by Voler

Sponsored by: Ogden Murphy Wallace Attorneys

Cascade Criterium Series Points Competition presented by Voler’ with additional sponsorship from Ogden Murphy Wallace Attorneys will continue this year including Ballard Twilight, Taco Time Volunteer Park, Proctor/Tacoma, Poulsbo, and Redmond Derby Days.  Last year jersey winners are invited to wear their leader’s jersey at their first race during the 2018 competition.

Points will be awarded ten deep: 5,4,3,2,1,1,1,1,1,1.  In the event of a tie, the racer with the highest position in the current race is declared the Points Leader.  The current Points Leader and all competitors wearing a Points Leader Jersey will be called up at the beginning of each race in which he/she is a competitor to be acknowledged and start at the front of the peloton. Points are accumulated in individual races within each Cascade Criterium Series Points Races and are not transferable between series races.  The leader’s jersey will be awarded at selected races during the series, with the final Jersey awarded at the Redmond Derby Days Criterium to the racer having the most points in that Points Series Race. Jersey’s will be awarded at podium presentations and Points Leaders must be present to receive their Jersey’s.
